Cannabis Tinctures

THC tinctures are created by taking THC from cannabis and then weakening it using alcohol. THC is the psychoactive chemical in cannabis that alters your mood. People are turning to THC tinctures as a way to administer marijuana orally or sublingually for the most potent relief. This has become more popular than ever before, as it offers all of the benefits without any of the risks that come with smoking marijuana flower or eating edibles.

What is a cannabis tincture?

Cannabis leaf and small bottles of hemp oil isolated on white background. Close up.Cannabis tinctures are potent liquids prepared with diluted THC designed to be administered orally or sublingually. Tinctures provide a rapid and easy way to experience the effects of cannabis without having to smoke or inhale vapor.

Use this method of consuming cannabis instead of smoking it to avoid harmful respiratory side effects, as combustion is not necessary. You’ll also be able to reap the benefits of more potent THC concentrates.

How are cannabis tinctures made?

You can easily make a tincture with THC cannabis. After extracting the THC from the flower, dilute it in high-proof alcohol or glycerin. Then, mix in a flavoring agent to taste such as vanilla extract. Here are the general steps:

  • Before anything else, carbon dioxide must be eliminated from the cannabis plant. One way to do this with flower is by grinding it into a powdery consistency.
  • A flower is then placed in a jar, which is filled with 190-proof alcohol.
  • After the jar is sealed, it is allowed to sit for a few weeks.
  • Once the waiting period is over, the mixture is strained and filtered.

Keep in mind that cannabis tinctures are only THC by one percent of weight. So, depending on how much cannabis is used will determine the THC levels. If you want a more potent tincture, use more cannabis.

THC tinctures: A discrete way to consume cannabis

Tinctures are cannabis-infused liquids that can be taken orally (by mouth) or sublingually (under the tongue). They’re a popular way to consume cannabinoids because they offer fast, reliable relief without any harsh side effects like smoking or eating marijuana edibles. THC tinctures are especially potent because the liver doesn’t metabolize them before they’re absorbed into your bloodstream.
